Context

This small circular disc has a dome-like prominence in its center, approximately 1.4 cm in diameter, surrounded by a flattened ring (1). The underside is concave and filled with encrustations.

Technical Observations

The patina features raised dark green corrosion products with light green in recessed areas. Gray burial accretions and iron corrosion products are present in many areas. The object is probably mineralized to a significant depth and appears never to have been cleaned. 
 
The object was probably cast from a model made directly in wax. The model could also have been created by pressing the wax into a simple form in order to obtain the exterior shape.
